Well, it was only a matter of time….we ended up taking Delaney to the doctor today with the same symptoms Ben had a few days ago. As we have come to expect, the clinic did 24-hour a strep test and sent us home without any meds. Delaney’s throat was so sore that she could barely swallow and she is running a fever. At the earliest, we will pick-up anti-biotics on Monday and start to get her healed. After returning from the Doc, I cruised on over to Costco for a little shopping…..you know, Milk in a 55 gallon drum….cereal in a 50lb bag, and so forth! Actually, I am quite impressed with their prices. We have found that we save at least 30% on the things we buy…enough to justify the $50 annual membership fee. A few weeks back we bought some “fresh” chicken breast which turned out to be “notso” fresh….so we have opted to by the quick frozen purdue brand, and are quite happy with it. So, after picking up some milk, apples, romaine lettuce, Mocha Frappaccino, and a few pounds of Special K, I was on my way to Sears for a new fan for the workout room. After bringing them home, we decided it was time to replace our gas grill which had become quite rusted & rickety and gave the appearance of an inferno waiting to happen (note that this condition was accelerated by the moving company using it as a wedging block to top off a row in the moving truck…God love ‘em). I did a little online comparative shopping between Sears and Home Depot and settled on a largely stainless model at Home Depot that was branded as a Charmglow (now a Home Depot branding), but was built by Brinkmann. Despite the offer of free assembly, I opted to spend a couple hours of frustration tomorrow setting it up myself. This decision was based on the lack of any pre-assembled grills in the model I wanted, and the fact that I would likely not be able to fit a fully assembled grill into the back of the Pacifica (and putting it on the roof, while funny to imagine, would probably not work). I vaguely remember years ago, when I worked at Agway, that having to assemble a gas grill for someone was something that the LOSER of the coin toss had to do! So, tomorrow afternoon will be devoted to the grill assembly…..and if I am successful, it will be a grilled chicken salad for dinner in place of the normal Nutrisystem fare! Wish me luck! Oh….and only 39 days until Hockey Season!
