Family Update – 29 Oct 06
Today we finally went out and picked up a couple of pumpkins at the local pumpkin sales place. I guess I didn’t realize what a cash crop pumpkins have become! After hauling our two decent sized pumpkins up to the scales and cash register, I had to drop $22! I guess I should have known better than buying from this highly commercialized sales location.Â
They also had a relatively small amusement area with several inflateable slides and hay tunnels and the like. We wanted the kids to go play there until we saw the admission price….$15 per kid, no way!! That was outrageous for what it was. Yet, I was still foolish enough to buy their pumpkins! Interestingly, this was the same place that we bought pumpkins from in the fall of 2002 when I was assigned to the Pentagon and we were living in Springfield, VA. I have posted pictures from then and now for comparison….my, how the kids have grown!Â

In other news, I did a fair amount of tinkering on the Genealogy website over the weekend. I posted numerous pictures of current family members. You need to register for an account on that website and be logged in to see the pictures. They show up when you view the normal Genealogy charts. I also added a few more family members on my Mother’s side of the family, to include some dates (like my Great Uncle Fred, and others). If you get a chance, drop on by! If you don’t register/log-in there you can still see the family tree, however, pictures and information about living members of the family tree will not be viewable.
Back to work in the morning! Yeehaw!
