Website and Hockey Updates

Over the last few days I have made some minor updates to the website, as follows:

• ← Added new maple leaf bullet - Unordered lists now include the Vermont maple leaf bullet 
• Added new banner photos - 10 new pictures added to the random rotation at the top of the webpage.  As before, they are pictures I have taken in VT and FL (the ones with Mountains are from VT!). 
• Added post rating plug-in - enables readers to rate each post on a scale of 1 to 5 stars.  It is located at the top of each post ( (No Ratings Yet)).  Simply click on the number of stars you would like to rate a post and it will add your rating to the total ratings for the post, and look something like this “ (1 votes, average: 5 out of 5)”. 
• Added print link plug-in - enables readers to print the currently viewed post.  It is located at the top of each post (“Print This Post”).  Click on the link and it generates a printable page.  Once there, click on the link in the lower right corner of the page that says “Click Here to Print This Post” and it will send it to your printer.
• Added e-mail link plug-in - enables readers to e-mail the currently viewed post to whomever they would like, along with their own comments.  It is located at the top of each post (“Email This Post”).  Click the link, fill out the form (to include the image verification info – prevents spamming), and click the “Mail It”  link. 
• Added new page navigation plug-in.  Enables readers to navigate to a specific page number to see previous posts (as opposed to the old system of navigation which used “previous” and “next” to navigate between old posts).   It is located at the bottom of each post (“Pages (xx):  [1] 2 3 >>… Last >>”).   

All new plug-ins I added were developed Gamerz at http://www.lesterchan.net/blogs/.  Kudos to him for putting out useful and interesting WordPress code plug-ins.

Hockey Update:  On an unrelated note, here is a nod to Mr Papa’s Detroit Red Wings for shutting out the Pittsburgh Penguins last night by a score of 2-0.  Despite the score, it was a great game…..kudos to the Red Wings for their impressive defensive play which held the Penguins to just 13 shots (Detroit had just 26, also fairly low by today’s standards).  It was a one goal game until 1:21 left in the third period, when Detroit capitalized……pretty much killing any hope of Pittsburgh tying the game with in the last minute with their goalie pulled.  Again, I was impressed with the Penguins play….much better than last year, and they only had 3 penalties last night (vs 7 in the game against the Flyers).  When Evgeni Malkin rejoins the line-up, the offensive play should improve.
