Karen turns 40 today! After 2.5 months of unbridled ribbing, she can no longer chide me for being an old geezer without reprisal. Last night, I brought home a dozen long-stemmed red roses for her and gave her present to her early. I bought her a white gold diamond and sapphire ring. She had not given me any ideas, so I had to get creative. Actually, after 17 years of marriage, birthdays and Christmas together, there are very few good present ideas left! We are at that age now that when we really want or need something, we generally just go get it! I had always wanted to get her a sapphire ring. What better occassion than her 40t birthday! She was not expecting it, so the surprise was well worth it. Here is a picture of the ring:
We haven’t yet decided what we are going to do today, but at a minimum we will be going out to dinner at a restaurant of Karen’s choosing to celebrate.Â
