Snow Day in VA

Posted at 7:55 pm under Family,In the News

It was supposed to be a winter weather advisory with some sleet and freezing rain, but it turned into a snow event with 5.5″ of the heavy, wet, white stuff.  The kids are praying for no school tomorrow, but no word yet.  I will try and catch an early morning flight.  The snow turned to sleet and freezing rain late this afternoon, so it will be interesting to see what happens overnight.  I am hoping that it doesn’t dork up the morning travel plans.  My last trip to San Diego had problems just like this one!!

Here is a picture I took from the porch this morning.  We got about 2-3″ of snow after this picture was taken.  It was really pretty because it was wet and stuck to all of the trees.

I guess you made it out okay…

I do the shoveling, unfortunately! Actually, I enjoy it! Made it out this morning to San Diego, but had an hour and a half delay (on the plane) in Cincinnati while the mechanics did some work to alleviate any concerns about “sluggish control surfaces”….hmmmm

I hope they told you about the “sluggish controls” after the fact instead of while waiting on the plane… I can just see the panic stricken look of nervous fliers…

No, they announced it right after they loaded the plane and before the maintenance guys came out. Then they allowed people to get off the plane…which most people did.
